Protecting Our Community Since 1953
Mount Laurel Fire Department
Our Legacy and Dedication
The Mount Laurel Fire Department was established in 1953 with a mission to protect the residents of Mount Laurel Township. Over the decades, we have evolved from a small volunteer force to a robust combination of volunteer and career firefighters. Our services include fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and public education. We operate out of three strategically located fire stations to ensure rapid response times and comprehensive coverage for our community.
The Mount Laurel Fire Department operates with a combination of dedicated volunteer and career personnel. Each of our three fire stations—Masonville, Fellowship, and Birchfield—is staffed 24/7 to ensure rapid response times. Our team includes approximately 30 active volunteer firefighters and 53 career firefighters, working together to provide comprehensive fire protection and emergency services to our community.
Our Leadership
Department Structure
The Mount Laurel Fire Department operates under the guidance of the chief of department, who oversees all aspects of our operations. Reporting to the chief is a deputy fire chief, managing emergency response and handling administrative duties. Our training division, led by a battalion chief, ensures that all personnel are well-prepared for any situation. The battalion chief also supervises daily activities and provides command during emergencies, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

Our team includes approximately 30 active volunteer firefighters and 53 career firefighters. Career personnel work in 24-hour shifts, supplemented by volunteer staffing. This combination allows us to maintain quick response times and provide comprehensive coverage for all emergency situations.
